Words for life's journey

“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.”
—Kahlil Gibran
(1883-1931); Artist, Poet, And Writer

How you see yourself will determine what kind of life you live. If you’re going to be successful in life and in your Christian walk, you have to have a vision of victory and see yourself the way God sees you: as the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, a victor and not a victim. You will move toward the image that’s in your mind and eventually produce what you keep in front of you.

This is beautiful…..

Three things in life that, once gone, never come back –
Time, Words, Opportunity

Three things in life that may never be lost –
Peace, Hope, Honesty

Three things in life that are most valuable –
Love, Self-confidence, Friends

Three things in life that are never certain –
Dreams, Success, Fortune

Three things that make a man/woman –
Hard work, Sincerity, Commitment

Three things in life that can destroy a man/woman –
Alcohol, Pride, Anger

Three things in life that, once lost, hard to build-up -

I'd Need A Savior

How many names
can I use to explain
the love of my Jesus
the life that He gave

And so many times
will I praise You today
I lift up my life
cuz' You're always the same

And my offering
to You I bring

Your name is Jesus
Your name is Jesus
You're the wonderful
Counselor, my friend
You're what I hold on to
I know that You've brought me through
All the days of loss
to the cross
you knew
That I'd need a Savior

How many songs
can I sing to proclaim
Your wondrous love
oh, and beauty so great
oh, and what would I say
If You brought down the rain
oh, and every day
I walked through the pain
my heart would still say, oh
You knew
that I'd need a Savior

Useless stuff You Just Have to Know

Kind of interesting and definitely something different...
all have been verified to be essentially true.

- There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.

- There are only four words in the English language which end in "-dous": tremendous, horrendous, stupendous and hazardous.

- Your stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every two weeks; otherwise it will digest itself.

- There are more chickens than people in the world.

- Bill Gates' first business was Traff-O-Data, a company that created machines which recorded the number of cars
passing a given point on a road.

- Rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.

- Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur.

- The name for Oz in the "Wizard of Oz" was thought up when the creator, Frank Baum, looked at his filing cabinet and saw A-N, and O-Z, hence "Oz."

Honey Walnut Cream Cheese Spread

This year, I made an assortment of quick breads for the family when we met for the holidays... banana, pumpkin, and cranberry nut. I've always liked the flavored cream cheeses at Panara's and Bruegger's and I found this recipe on the internet. I mixed up a batch to give with the breads.

Honey Walnut Cream Cheese Spread

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 Tablespoons honey
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 ounce crushed walnuts
Put all ingredients in a bowl, blend with hand mixer.

EAT UNTIL GONE !

PS. it was every bit as good as the name brands, maybe better !
Will keep in the fridge for two weeks in a rubbermaid - type container.

A little inspiration motivation.....

Start Over!

When you've trusted Jesus and walked His way,
When you've felt His hand lead you day by day,
But your steps now take you another way,
Start Over!

When you've made your plans and they've gone awry,
When you've tried your best and there's no more try,
When you've failed yourself and you don't know why,
Start Over!

When you've told your friends what you plan to do,
When you've trusted them and they didn't come through,
And now you're all alone and it's up to you,
Start Over!

When you've failed your kids and they're grown and gone,
When you've done your best but it's turned out wrong,
And now your grandchildren have come along,
Start Over!

When you've prayed to God so you'll know His will,
When you've prayed and prayed and you don't know still,
When you want to stop cause you've had your fill,
Start Over!

When you think you're finished and want to quit,
When you've bottomed out in life's deepest pit,
When you've tried and tried to get out of it,
Start Over!

When the year has been long and successes few,
When December comes and you're feeling blue,
God Gives a January just for you,
Start Over!

Starting Over means "Victories Won"
Starting Over means "A Race well run"
Starting Over means "The Lord's Will Done:
Don't just sit there . . .
Start Over!
