~ Odds and ends ~

Test for Mental Acuity

It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time, and this should help get you started.

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalized. "Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup. "No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug.

Do you want a bed near the window?"

Finally......

a new family has taken up residence in one of the birdhouses that Alex and Jack made for me last Spring ! I had a hard time getting a photo so that I could determine what kind of bird it is. I believe it’s a Tufted Titmouse. Look at the two photos below and see if you agree:
computer search photo

My photo

Now let's see if she tells a friend about the other available birdhouse...
You would think that a nice apartment, located in a treed area, would go quickly. And did I mention that there is no rental fee ?

I know that every Grandma thinks......

that they have the best Grandchildren.
But...my youngest grandson is one in a million. He's the most considerate, polite, undemanding kid I know.
The other day, I bought a new large print dictionary at the book store. I had a big old webster that I had got for $1.00 on a clearance table some time ago and told my daughter to take it home if they didn't have one.
Alex: What's this?
Sarah: It's a Dictionary. Gram sent it. She thought you might need it for school.
Alex:Wow! for my birthday?
Sarah: No...Gram has your birthday gift, she'll give it to you on Wednesday.
( Alex spends some time looking at it and puts it on the coffee table. )
Stepdad Frank comes home: What's this ?
Alex: It's a dictionary! Gram gave it to me for my birthday!
It tells you what words mean and has some neat pictures. Isn't it nice?
Frank just smiled at my daughter Sarah and said "Aren't we lucky ".
