Just in case you were wondering...

Do you know pumpkins are a fruit?
The largest pumpkin ever grown was 1,689 pounds.
The top pumpkin production states are
Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and California.
In early colonial times, pumpkins were used as an
ingredient for the crust of pies, not the filling.
Using pumpkins as lanterns at Halloween is based on an ancient
Celtic custom brought to America by Irish immigrants.

How interesting! That was one big pumpkin. I don't believe we have any around here this year that could compete. We kept hearing that the pumpkins were relatively small due to the drought. I think tonight there is supposed to be " a little frost on the pumpkin." Brrrrr Winter's on its way!
